Lake landscape (Roman countryside?)

Suggestive lake landscape, also with boats, perhaps a view of the Roman countryside or a lake in Lazio, or perhaps even a realistic or ideal view of the Pontine marshes, places where the well-known Spanish artist, originally from Barcelona, lived for many years in Italy, both in Naples and in Rome; and it was precisely because of the unhealthy marshy air of the Roman countryside that the artist fell ill with malaria, a disease that forced him to temporarily leave Italy to return to his native Spain to be cured, and he later returned to Rome and spent the last years of his life there;

painting of beautiful dimensions, oil on canvas, measuring approximately 67×122 cm; specimen still on its original canvas and stretcher, the painting is obscured by old dirt, therefore deserving of cleaning; old annotations are present on the back of the painting; specimen presumably datable to the early 20th century (an old annotation on the back of the painting indicates: Rome, 1917).

(specimen on consignment and therefore kept in a private collection, unauthorized reproductions are prohibited; purchase proposals are accepted)
