Mountain landscape at dusk, with a viaticum scene.

Large and suggestive painting by the well-known Lombard artist; probably an unpublished work, executed in his youth, perhaps for an important art exhibition at the end of the 19th century; more in-depth research would also allow the identification of the mountain landscape depicted here, perhaps a landscape of the Valtellina or another mountain resort favored by the artist. A specimen with similar light effects is that of the collection of the Palazzo Pitti Gallery in Florence. Oil painting on canvas, approximately 130x170 cm, in its original gilded frame; signed and dated work, 1884.
